Volunteer Appreciation Week 2022

Reflecting on the Joy Volunteers bring to Community Restorative Justice

Thank you to all of you who volunteer your time to make community-connected restorative justice possible. Volunteers, Board Members and Police Liaisons all volunteer their time to be part of restorative justice and supporting LCJP. You show people their community is interested in what they have to say, and that the action they undertake to repair harm is worthwhile.

As part of celebrating your immense contribution to restorative justice, we'd like to share a journal article, written in 2021 by Jessica Goldberg, Training Institute Manager and Dana Henderson, former Community Programs Director. We wrote this as a reflection on the innovation volunteers made possible in 2020 and felt great joy in sharing this story in the International Journal of Restorative Justice. Click here to read, "An ode to volunteers: reflections on community response through restorative practices before and after COVID-19."

We hope you'll feel the joy with which we wrote about your accomplishments and know how much you inspire and make possible with LCJP.
